Manchester United is out of the Uefa Champions League after losing (1:2) to Sevilla at Old Trafford in the round of 16 second leg on Tuesday evening with Sevilla’s Nzonzi taking hold of the midfield. People are blaming Jose Mourinho for United’s defeat, but former united defender, Rio Ferdinand seems to be displeased with the whole squad which he made known in the post match analysis.
The former United defender was looking unhappy with United during the post match analysis and as a true pundit he let it all out after he was asked about Manchester United’s performance. He said United’s performance was very terrible, he also said;
“I thought they would have brought confidence to this game but they looked like a team thrown together and full of strangers. “They played with nerves, played nervously and cautiously from the beginning. In these games you need to take it by the scruff of the neck, that takes personality and characters to do that in this stadium.
“You have to give the fans something to cheer about. This stadium was quiet tonight and that’s down to the players. The players on the pitch have to inspire this stadium at times. Sanchez looks like the shadow of the former player he was, seems he has lost his talent.”
The way @ManUtd set up at Old Trafford today to counter attack this @SevillaFC_ENG team (weakest Sevilla team for years btw) was baffling. But also the players are the ones who set the tempo too, far too slow & cautious in possession & so passive without it 🙈
